1. Heat olive oil in a cast iron pot over medium heat.

3. Stir in tomato paste and cook for 3–4 minutes to reduce acidity.
4. Add crushed tomatoes, herbs, and red pepper flakes, then simmer uncovered for 20–25 minutes.
5. Adjust with water if needed, season with salt and pepper, and garnish with fresh basil or parsley.
