The top five diets in Massachusetts as revealed by Google data
CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) – A recent study conducted by health and wellness website Fitness Brand has unveiled the top five most searched diets in Massachusetts.
The study, which analyzed Google search data, aimed to identify the most Googled diets across all 50 states in the U.S.
Massachusetts’ top five diets are as follows:
- Mediterranean Diet: Topping the list is the Mediterranean diet, garnering an average of 14,500 searches per month. Inspired by cuisines from Mediterranean countries like Spain, France, and Greece, this diet emphasizes foods such as fish, poultry, extra virgin olive oil, whole grains, and seasonal fruits and vegetables.
- Intermittent Fasting: Following closely behind is intermittent fasting, with an average of 12,017 monthly searches. This diet involves cycles of eating and fasting, with various approaches ranging from alternative-day fasting to time-restricted eating windows.
- Keto Diet: Securing the third spot is the keto diet, attracting an average of 7,883 searches monthly. Characterized by high-fat, low-carb intake, the keto diet includes foods like animal or plant-based proteins, dairy, and non-starchy vegetables.
- Dash Diet: Ranking fourth is the Dash diet, with an average of 3,175 searches per month. This dietary approach aims to lower high blood pressure by promoting the consumption of fruits, vegetables, low-fat dairy products, and lean proteins.
- Low FODMAP Diet: Rounding out the top five is the Low FODMAP diet, with an average of 2,317 monthly searches. This diet focuses on eliminating specific fermentable carbohydrates to alleviate symptoms in individuals with irritable bowel syndrome.
Nationally, the top five most searched diets across the U.S. are Mediterranean, Intermittent Fasting, Keto, Dash, and Paleo diets.
